In the context of exposure to Radon and Radon progeny, the historical unit for potential alpha energy concentration, defined as any combination of the short-lived progeny of 222Rn or 220Rn in air that will result in the emission of exactly 1.30 × 108 MeV m–3 of potential alpha energy, which is approximately equal to 2.08 × 10–5 J m–3.
